Underage Mothers (Child Marriage) Historically, child marriage was common around the world, the average life expectancy did not exceed 50 years old so it was seen as a better way to reproduce through child marriage. The practice began to be questioned in the 20th century, with the age of individuals' first marriage increasing in many countries and most countries increasing the minimum marriage age

Child Marriage is not an option. Support girl education Child/Early marriage refers to any marriage of a child younger than 18 years old, in accordance to Article 1 of the Convention on the Right of the Child. While child marriage affects both sexes, girls are disproportionately affected as they are the majority of the victims. Their overall development is compromised, leaving them socially isolated with little education, skills and opportunities for employment and self-realization. This leaves child brides more vulnerable to poverty, a consequence of child marriage as well as a cause.

Aisha Buhari reaches out to people living with HIV/AIDS (photos) The wife of the President of Nigeria Aisha Buhari says although there has been a lot of success in curbing the spread of HIV/AIDS, there is still need to keep raising the awareness in the country. This was made known while donating food items to persons living with HIV/AIDS at the national hospital in Abuja Tuesday The Chief Medical director of the National Hospital Abuja Jaf Momoh says this is the first time administrations are reaching out to them individually and the gesture will go along way in boosting the moral of persons living with the condition in the country. He also added the need for more funding for the programme in the hospital as well as a bigger space for the HIV clinic in Abuja. Mrs Buhari was accompanied by the wife of the vice president Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo and other dignitaries
